This slide presents three distinct types of human muscle tissue mounted together for direct comparison. Each section is finely cut and lightly stained to highlight structural differences: - Skeletal muscle shows long, striated fibers with multiple peripheral nuclei, representing voluntary muscle attached to bones. - Cardiac muscle displays branched, striated fibers with central nuclei and intercalated discs, found in the heart wall. - Smooth muscle consists of spindle-shaped, non-striated cells with central nuclei, typical of involuntary muscles in internal organs.
