Description
The filament run-out sensor is a device that detects the presence of filament during a print.
It is designed to prevent failed prints that would occur if the filament runs out mid-print.
Features
- Intelligent pause: Automatically pauses the 3D printing process when it detects that the filament has run out or broken.
- Resume function: After the user replaces the filament, the printer can resume the print from where it left off.
- LED indicator: A blue LED on the sensor indicates normal filament feeding. The light turns off when filament runs out.
- Smooth filament path: Includes a built-in filament guider with a smooth metal surface to reduce friction and ensure consistent feeding.
- Wide compatibility: Works with many Creality printers, including the CR-10 V2, provided they have a compatible 32-bit motherboard (e.g., version 4.2.2 or 4.2.7).
- Firmware required: May require a firmware update for some models, such as the Ender 3 series, to enable the pause (M600) script functionality.
- Easy installation: The sensor kit typically includes an installation bracket (if needed) and a detection cable.
