Newton Disk diam 200mm

Newton Color Disc for demonstrating that white light may be composed from all the spectral colors by rotation of multi color disc. Comprising of a disc 200 mm, mounted on metal stand and driven by belt with the help of driving wheel fitted with a handle, can be clamped on table.

Features

Diameter approx. 200 mm – large enough for clear visual demonstration in a classroom/lab. Colour-segmented disk – divided into 7 segments (typically violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red) around the circumference. Sturdy stand/mounting – the disk is mounted on a pillar or spindle that allows rotation, often with a base (wooden or metal) for stability. Manual or hand-driven rotation – many models are operated by hand wheel or knob to spin the disk. (Some variants may offer motorised versions.) Educational optics demonstration – visually shows additive/averaging mixing of colours via rapid motion (temporal optical mixing) and gives a tangible sense of how “white light” can result from all the spectral colours blended. Durable construction – typically disk made of tin sheet/card or plastic, mounted on metal/wood stand; designed for repeated classroom use.
