Description
This slide presents a smear from the lining of the mouth, showing human cheek cells (eukaryotic) alongside naturally occurring oral bacteria (prokaryotic). Under the microscope, students can observe:
- Large, flat epithelial cells with visible nuclei
- Smaller bacterial cells adhering to or near the epithelial surface
- Cell membranes and cytoplasm with light contrast
The wholemount format allows for easy visualization of cell size differences, nuclear structure, and microbial colonization.
