Description

Soldering wire is a thin, fusible wire of a tin-based alloy, often containing flux, used with a soldering iron to form electrical connections in electronics and for low-strength mechanical joints. Welding wire is a much thicker wire or rod, made from metals like steel or aluminum with a flux core or solid composition, which is melted by an electric arc to create strong, structural bonds in welding processes like MIG or TIG welding. The key differences are that soldering uses lower heat for delicate electrical applications, while welding requires high heat for stronger, load-bearing metal connections.
